Preventive Archaeology

Chimera HC handles all phases of the Preventive Archaeology procedure (art. 41, paragraph 4 of Italian D.Lgs. 36/2023 “Codice dei contratti pubblici”), from the implementation of the VPIA (Archaeological Impact Assessment), to the planning and execution of territorial survey campaigns and preventive test trenches.

Chimera HC includes archaeologists qualified to carry out interventions on cultural heritage pursuant to article 9bis of the Code of Cultural Heritage and Landscape (Italian D.Lgs.42/2004) and holding the qualifications required for the Archaeological Impact Assessment (Italian D.M. 244/2019).

In the field of Preventive Archaeology we deal with:

analysis of historical cartography and photointerpretation
bibliographic and archival historical research
field surveys
preliminary archaeological investigations
plan and execution of preventive test trenches.
